Eta Omicron

Virginia Tech

Apr 8th, 1989

Founding Date

The brilliance of over two-and-one-half feet of snow which fell during the initiation ceremony painted the entire mountain setting a satin white as Eta Omicron chapter was installed at Virginia Tech University.

The Eta Omicron chapter of Alpha Phi was installed at Virginia Tech on April 8, 1989. One hundred and five women proudly signed the charter, along with over twenty mothers who became alumna initiates of Eta Omicron.

On hand for the Installation festivities were International Vice-President Extension Ginny Burson Struble (Beta Kappa-Denison); District Alumnae Chairman Alice Molitor King (Pi-North Dakota); New Chapter Supervisor Michelle Noland (Gamma Iota-Texas Tech); District Governor Kristi Hanson (Beta Zeta-Idaho), and Field Consultant Renee Smith Zimmerman Zainer (Beta Epsilon-Arizona).

Installation activities were coordinated by Valerie Ostroth. Alice King, representing the Alpha Phi Foundation, presented the traditional $1,000 check to a local medical facility and an honor badge to the chapter scholarship chairman. The Northern Virginia Alumnae Chapter presented a Lazy Phi badge to the chapter president.
