Eta

Although the chapter at Boston University was the third Alpha Phi chapter installed, they chose the name "Eta" - the seventh letter of the Greek alphabet - rather than "Gamma" because there were seven founding members of the chapter. Thus, the fourth chapter at DePauw would be called “Gamma.” A motion was later passed requiring chapters to follow Greek letter order based on their installation dates.
