Epsilon Psi was established in April 1975 and installed on Saturday, November 15, 1975. At its installation, collegians from Epsilon Nu (Delaware) conducted the Court of Ivy on Friday evening at the Hotel Bethlehem. Initiation was held Saturday morning at 9:00 am in the Lehigh Room of the hotel, with Beta Chi (Bucknell) performing the ceremony. Following initiation, Epsilon Kappa (Westchester) conducted the model meeting in an adjoining room. The chapter initiates were honored at a banquet on Saturday in the Grand Ballroom of the Hotel Bethlehem. International officers attending the banquet were Louise Trissler Cruikshank (Beta Iota-West Virginia), Director of Chapters East, who was toastmistress, and Martha Watkins Mast (Beta Nu-Duke), Vice President Alumnae Organization, who gave the main address and conducted the Loving Cup Ceremony following the banquet. Welcoming addresses were given by Lehigh Assistant Deans of Students Sharon Drager and Robert F. Reeves.
Alpha Phi, Epsilon Psi chapter, was the first sorority established at Lehigh University since the institution went coeducational in 1971. Following Alpha Phi's installation, the campus was quickly joined by Syracuse Triad NOC groups Gamma Phi Beta and Alpha Gamma Delta.
• In 1996, Alpha Phi was the first Lehigh sorority to occupy a house on Lehigh's "Hill" in the former Pi Lambda Phi fraternity chapter house. Prior to 1996, Alpha Phi occupied the former Congdon Upper Centennials dorm from 1984-1995; prior to 1984, Alpha Phi occupied the "Gipson" house located in the Saucon Married & Graduate ("SMAGS") student complex. Since 1996, Alpha Phi has called 98 Upper Sayre Park Road home. In 2018-2019, the chapter's House Corporation Board updated the common areas including a complete makeover of the basement lounge/TV area, study room and dining room. In a typical year, 45-50 members live in the chapter facility located at 98 Upper Sayre Park Rd in Bethlehem, PA.
