The Iota Sigma chapter of Alpha Phi was installed with 67 members on April 6, 2013 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The ceremony and charter signing took place on campus in the Connan Room, led by Alpha Phi International President Linda Long Boland (Gamma Kappa-CSU Long Beach). The installation banquet followed in the Alumni Concert Hall of the College of Fine Arts Building.
On the night of January 20, 2013, Alpha Phi took the CMU fence for the first time! The fence is one of the most painted objects in the world, and the Phi's took it over with bright pink in celebration of their first year on campus, along with the words "First to be Alpha Phi".
