Beta Theta

University of British Columbia

Jun 1st, 1929

Founding Date

Beta Theta was installed at the University of British Columbia after the Alpha Phi charter was approved for the existing Phi Omega sorority. Ruth Abbott Jones, International President (Theta-Michigan) and Gretchen Percy Wadell (Sigma-Washington) of the installation committee were onsite to celebrate their newest chapter. Initiation took place at Hotel Vancouver for thirty-seven Alpha Phis. The banquet following installation was full of love and laughter, with meaningful toasts from fellow Canadian sisters. The next day, the chapter was formally introduced at a tea at the Aztec Room of the Georgia Hotel.
