On January 27, 1950, Alpha Phi’s fiftieth chapter, Gamma Beta, University of California, Santa Barbara College, was duly installed with all color, dignity and tradition becoming to such an occasion. Forty-eight new Alpha Phis were initiated. Formal initiation ceremonies took place at the Tau Gamma Sigma chapter house in the afternoon with a great deal of assistance from members of UCLA (Beta Delta) and USC (Beta Pi). After initiation, they took off for the Santa Barbara Biltmore for a beautiful banquet.
